PLEASE NOTE: I have now moved to Canterbury and am running my business from there.
I am Baozhen, and I run Chinese Language Consultancy Ltd, offering business services and Chinese language and culture training.
I am originally from the north of China where I enjoyed working as a Chinese teacher for foreign students from various countries for two years, including many from Britain. I also taught English to Chinese students. I have been working in Cambridge as a Chinese teacher giving Mandarin classes to business people, children, students and academics since I moved to Cambridge in 2007.
As well as running CLC Ltd, I have taught for King's College School and I coordinated a language programme for engineering and biotech companies such as abcam plc and Sepura. I was previously Chinese tutor for evening classes at the Cambridge Parkside Federation, and I have given Mandarin Chinese lessons at the Cambridge International School, the Cambridge Centre for Sixth-Form Studies, and the Maths Department of the University of Cambridge.
I have provided consultancy services helping UK companies engaged in trading with Chinese partners to make themselves understood across the linguistic and cultural divide. My clients have included Cambridge University Department of Engineering, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge Overeas Trust, IT firm Autonomy, patent attorneys Mewburn Ellis, solicitors Ginn & Co, and biotech company Grifols. I have featured on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on several occasions.
I hold a ben-ke certificate (equivalent of undergraduate education) in English Studies from Inner Mongolia University, China. I hold a Certificate of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from the Ming-Ai Institute in London. I am an associate of The Charted Institute of Linguists. I also hold a law degree LLB from the Open University, UK. I am a student member with Lincoln's Inn.
